Activision is complicit in the quality of MW2 as much as IW. Their business practices has led to games of decreased quality and value.
Activision is trying to be Nintendo without a console. Unwanted peripherals and games with all the product life cycle of shovelware.
It is likely this blow up is related. Maybe IW blamed Activision when Activision tried to reprimand them...? Maybe Activision insisted on a machine gun peripheral or something godawful.
All we need is a peripheral.

A Mac console will be expensive, and would fair terribly against our current 3. I'm hoping we have one next gen, or before next gen tho.
Real Mac Fanatics are that way because they are rich and like a boutique computer for a little conspicuous consumption. Or they are creatives who don't want to even pretend they're tech savvy geeks. I don't think either will translate into gaming.
And when Microsoft and its 3rd party demonstrated Windows 7 for our IT group here Indiana, they ran it on parallel on a MacBook. Mac's been running Windows for a while now...at times better than a PC. Goes both ways.
Valve should have some PR. They griped about a product, that they may have to develop for one day. It wasn't a smart move, no matter how true. Yeah, it is hard to develop for the PS3, but not impossible obviously. Other developers do it with games coming out every week.
The fact that Valve can't was a sore spot for a AAA developer, and a couple of mouths were fairly dismissive of the PS3. No biggie. It ain't the entire company.

Reading into the situation myself personally, I think some egos were hurt during the making of Orange Box for PS3. They've been almost overly contrite about that game.
I'm sure if Valve makes a game for PS3 it will do well, and there won't be much backlash from their loose lips. No one's going to Australia.
I do hope this is a sign that Half Life is coming soon though. There is a reason those smart farts are looking at the PS3, and it probably isn't a new IP or non-AAA title.

Gears 1 & 2 aren't ever coming to the PS3, so why would they bring the third to console. There is no fan-base on the PS3.

Casual gamers are likely to be your older gamer, a demographic Sony targets more directly than Microsoft at the moment.
